Life Groups
What is a Life Group?
A Life Group is a place where you can grow in your relationship with Jesus while
growing into a greater understanding of what the Church is and how we partake
in being the Church. Jesus was clear that we are to love God, and love one another (Mark 12:30-31). In Life Groups we study God’s Word together and tackle the tough questions and challenges of life. It is also a place where we pray for, care for, and meet one another’s needs (Galatians 6:2). Life Groups are an amazing place to witness unity, growth, and character as we pursue Jesus and His will for us in our lives. We believe that Life Groups are a great place to develop and maintain a healthy Christian life.
What happens in a Life Group?
Life Groups gather together to go through a lesson that is based on the sermon from the previous week. The lesson includes a time of Bible study, application, and prayer. This allows for a natural growth as groups experience true community and become a picture of the Church. Again, the goal of each group is to encourage and challenge each other to fulfill the great commission (Matt. 28:18-20) by using their gifts, talents, and abilities
(I Peter 4:10) and to serve one another by meeting each other’s needs (Galatians 6:2).
How important is it that I get into a Life Group?
At Christ’s Church we believe it is vital to connect to others in healthy and growing relationships. Jesus never intended us to go through the joys and trials of life alone. A Life Group is a place for each of us to be real with each other so that we can help each other along toward maturity in Jesus.
When and where do they meet?
Life Groups meet throughout the week. Most groups meet on weeknights, but some meet
during the day, morning, or on weekends. Life Groups meet in each other’s homes all over the greater Joplin area.
