Missions – Joshua and Jessica Rodenbaugh – Team Expansion – Louisville, KY

Description of Ministry:

The Rodenbaughs serve with Team Expansion, an organization that exists to “transform communities among the unreached by planting biblical churches.” Team Expansion focuses on mobilizing, training, sending and sustaining missionaries going specifically among the least reached people of the world to initiate indigenous, biblical church planting movements. Team Expansion has 300+ missionaries in over 40 countries around the globe.

After serving with Team Expansion for several years in East Asia, the Rodenbaugh’s roles are currently with the international Services team at Emerald Hills, Team expansion’s sending base in Louisville, KY.

Joshua works with the Training & Outreach departments, serving as an administrative coordinator alongside the director of those departments. Joshua facilitates the global mission through his involvement with team Expansion’s various training programs, as well as working closely with the team of Field Coordinators overseeing the ongoing progress on the field. He works particularly close with Kairos, a global missions movement, which Team Expansion has connected with extensively both for training new missionaries as well as mobilizing the church in the U.S. and on the field. Joshua serves as part of a newly formed Kairos National Coordination Team for the U.S as an Organizational Coordinator. He is also involved with the DSOTO program (Discipleship School of the Outdoors) in which the principles of team building and experiential learning are put to use through a low ropes challenge course in order to foster fruitful teamwork among the missionaries that are sent out.

Jessica has been active in pursuing the mission Team Expansion by serving as the Missionary Kid Ministry associate. She helps provide training for the children of new missionary recruits, provides childcare during missionary trainings that are hosted at the home office, helps host an annual retreat for college-age missionary kids, and provides support for the families of Team Expansion’s 200+ missionary kids to ensure that they are thriving in their different fields of service. Jessica’s role will be shifting some as she and Joshua are expecting their first child in May 2012, however, she will continue to be as involved with the MK Ministry as she can while also taking on her new role of being a mother.
